Wednesday Thrifting Score

I found a couple of beautiful things at a thrift store yesterday and can't wait to share them with you!

First a sexy Morso cooking pan - look at those lines!  OK, maybe not sexy but very sleek looking.  It's designed by Michael Lax for Morso.  All of the research I've been doing on these pans show them made by and marked Copco.  Morso is the island the company that made them is on. (hmm, I'll have to figure out how to put a line through the last o)  These bare cast iron pans were apparently more popular in Europe and the enameled did better in North America.  I'm going to list it on Ebay later on.
And how adorable is this Vera scarf.  I found a few really great silk scarves yesterday and last week and will list them in my Etsy shop (yay!  I made another sale!) today.
I also found a big, clunky, super cool looking old Polaroid Land Camera.  I love it and I realize they're a dime a dozen but they looks awesome.  This one is in great shape.  The bellows are perfect.  Not sure what to do with this one yet.
Have a great thrifting week!

Flea Market Find of the Year

So, after reading Her Library Adventures blog post about her finds of the year, I went looking for what I thought mine might be.  I came up with this little Danish side table (it's labeled Mobelintarsia) that I scored at the Salvation Army for about $15.  I love it - it gets used and looks perfect in my living room with my thrifted lamp (um, $6 or $7?) and Walmart lampshade.  I've had it for a few months and will one day finish reupholstering the mid century armchair beside it and will then post a picture of that!

...on a cold Thursday...

I went to a thrift store yesterday and got a few pretty awesome things, if I do say so myself ;)

A really nice Banana Republic purse.
A great leather purse for Etsy.  Vintage, yet I know I've seen this style in magazines recently.  It has a removeable strap in the purse.
*bad picture alert*  Another Liberty silk scarf.  Really pretty, and if you don't mind digging through alot of scarves, not too hard to find!
And the last thing I've taken a picture of, awesome black womens Brahma boots.  Really cute and I'm tempted to keep them myself...
Happy thrifting everyone!

thriftShare

Alright!  My first thrift share post.  I'm hoping I don't screw this up.

I have a few small things this week that I found, some for Etsy and some for Ebay and...some for me :D
Pictured is what I have and plan to put up on Etsy (I'm still working on getting photos right for Etsy - there's such a look about it).  A vintage Susan Bates knitting and crochet kit.  Really cute but I don't crochet and knitting something with needles that small would take me forever!  Hence, Etsy.  The black leather clutch (has a chain strap inside) is very 70s/80s? and super soft.  As I recall when I was about 13, I left one sitting on top of a car and never saw it again...

The scarves are awesome and I would love to keep them, but, though I've tried, I'm not really a scarf girl.  Sad, cause these are awesome (yup, 2nd time I've said that.  I'm dating myself).  Both are silk; one is Liberty of London and one is Lanvin.  I'm finding them really hard to date based on the labels, but neither are very recently made.
OK, so I'm linking up with Her Library Adventures and Apron Thrift Girl.

Have a great week!

What the...?

So, I’m in the process of setting up an Etsy shop – getting those photographs just right is gonna kill me!  And I was thrifting around the other day, and I found this thing (see big picture below).  What is it??  I figured maybe an unusual teapot, and it seems that some Japanese teapots have the handle and spout in this configuration.  There is an imprint of some letter on the end of the handle – perhaps Japanese – but it’s a little worn and hard to read.

It may be not worth the $3 I paid, and therefore a great planter! or a super cool vintage piece that I can put in my burgeoning Etsy shop (thriftlove ;))
